The Cycle of Life - 2

Core Integration

incorporates Core Energetics, Oriental Practices, Reichian Therapies and Essence Teachings.

In the workshops, we will use Bioenergetics and Qi Gong exercises, Core Energetics processes, Gestalt, role-play, dance, Reichian and Chinese breathing techniques, therapy and bodywork, personal and transpersonal spiritual practices, group work and sharing, pair work and interplay, emotional expression and release, and oriental and healing energy work.

Essentially, the Core Energetics format plus other body-centred and humanistic approaches constitute the framework in which all these methods will operate. The overall focus of the course is the unfolding of the authentic, core reality and pulsation, so we can recognise, live and ultimately unify with the true essence of being.

The course is modelled on the “Cycle of Life” with its five “Phases of Being” as envisaged by the ancient Chinese. These phases of transformation are known as Earth, Metal, Water, Wood and Fire and represent the movement of life on all levels - cosmic, natural and human. Each Phase represents specific dynamics, qualities, principals and transformations of pulsation, energy and consciousness.

It is a personal exploration which is both directive yet fluid; both a therapy and a partnership. The route one follows in the pursuit of self realization, actualisation and healing is determined by the story you bring. The actual means of accessing one’s truth and the blocks and barriers that conceal and stifle it, are manifold.

They range from a) Physical methods such as grounding body postures, breath work and bioenergetic exercises. These are process-inducing movements and actions.

b) Psychological methods such as role-play, emotional expression and catharsis. Catharsis is the regulated and intentional release of intense, painful or destructive feelings in a safe manner. This may be hitting or kicking cushions and mattresses, allowing deep crying or deep fears and longings to surface. The psycho-dynamics of working with others in a group setting, the therapist-client interaction and heart-opening work between the participants is also part of this agenda.

c) Spiritual approaches such as transformational practices. These in conjunction with the psychological work can liberate us from our defences and offer us an avenue to live our life as our true self envisages. Time is spent sinking into our core essence after the more person-centred work has been undertaken. Hence the inner dynamics of body, personality and soul can be felt into. From such a process insight can be gained or transcendental states can be reached.
